Dean Stuart Sprankle

Dean Stuart Sprankle, 79, of New Philadelphia passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, June 25, 2020.

Dean was born on March 26, 1941 in Shanesville to the late Clark and Maude Mast Sprankle. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Robert and Don Sprankle; and a sister, Jean Sprankle.

Dean retired from the City of New Philadelphia in 2003 after 16 years of service, and had also worked for over 30 years at Marlite. He was a member of Shanesville Lutheran Church and was an avid sports fan. He loved following the Browns, Ohio State Buckeyes and the Indians.

Dean is survived by his sons, Dean Sprankle Jr., Jeff (Kelly) Sprankle both of New Philadelphia, Kevin Sprankle of Canton; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover. There will be no services or calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association at 5755 Granger Rd Suite 905, Independence, OH 44131.
