Debra J. "Toots" Tschantz

Debra J. "Toots" Tschantz, 56, of Dover died Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at her home following a two year battle with cancer.

Born August 17, 1956 in Dover she was a daughter of Carl and Pauline Levengood Welling of Strasburg.

Debra was a 1974 graduate of Strasburg High School and was a life member of the St. John's Lutheran Church in Baltic. She had worked at Aberth's Bakery, and most recently Litty's Cakes and Cookies in New Philadelphia for many years until illness forced her retirement. She enjoyed her pets, but most importantly she loved sports, from playing in her younger days in high school to watching games in person or on TV it truly was a passion of hers.

In addition to her parents, she will also be sadly missed by her husband of 25 years, Rudy J. Tschantz whom she married on November 14, 1987; brother, Bob (Deanna) Welling of Dover and sister, Linda (Mark) Netro of Canton; nieces and nephews, Rob (Sarah) Netro, Chloe Netro, Billie Jo (Jeremy) McCune and Josh Rogers; great nieces and nephews, Alisha, Brennan, Alexandria and Destiny.

She was also preceded in death by her brother, Don Welling.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 13 at 11:00 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover with Rev. John Paul Maroni officiating. Interment will be at the Dover Burial Park. Following the burial a luncheon will be held in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Friends can call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-5 pm.
