Debra "Deb" Miller

Debra “Deb” Miller, age 66, of New Philadelphia, passed away Monday, October 30, 2023 in her home. Deb had been diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease this spring, but her death was unexpected.

Born September 24, 1957 in Dennison, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Shirley Holcomb Garrett. Deb graduated from New Philadelphia High School in 1976, and later, on August 25, 1979, married Steven “Steve” Miller, who survives. She was a loving homemaker who stayed at home with her sons when they were growing up. Later, Deb was employed in the floral shop at Buehler’s in New Philadelphia, and as a teller at the DoverPhila Federal Credit Union New Philadelphia office. 

Deb enjoyed gardening and growing flowers, and she was very creative - arranging flowers, painting, doing craftwork, knitting and crocheting.

She will be dearly missed by her husband, Steve; her sons, Leland “Lee” (Virginia) Miller of Dover, and Shawn (Robin) Miller of New Philadelphia; her grandchildren, Devan, Darius, Sekou, Anson, Mark and Shelby; her great-grandchildren, Jude, Kraven and Julian; her brothers, Louie (Vickie) Garrett and Kelly Garrett; and her nieces and nephews.

Honoring Deb’s wishes, she will be cremated through the care of the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover, and there will be no visitation or ceremony. Those who desire may make a contribution to their own favorite charity in her memory.
