Della M. Sexton

Della M. Sexton, 93, of Strasburg died Friday, December 7, 2012 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born October 11, 1919 in Conesville, Ohio she was a daughter of the late John and Verna Jones Frock. Della was also preceded in death by her husband, Raymond E. Sexton on October 23, 1990; daughters, Connie Aeling and Debbie Prince; grandson, Phillip McGraw; three half-brothers and a half-sister.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Strasburg. Della had a real passion for collecting toy and porcelain dolls, as well as being an avid garage sale shopper. Her other pleasures in life included gambling in Wheeling and Las Vegas and rooting for her beloved Buckeyes in basketball and football.

A wonderful and loving mother and grandmother, Della will be sadly missed by her children, Brenda Pittman of Dover, Gail Sexton of Strasburg, John Sexton of Dover, Edward (Robin) Sexton of Bolivar and Jeff (Sheila) Sexton of Grove City; 15 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, one great-great grandson and her caregiver, Holly Burger.

The family would also like to thank Community Hospice for their wonderful and caring service during Della's illness.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 11 at 11:00 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover with Pastor Bruce Sexton officiating. Interment will be in the Grandview Union Cemetery at Strasburg. A reception will follow in the Dover Alliance Church. Friends can call at the funeral home on Monday from 5-8 pm.
