Delmar A. Espenschied

Delmar A. Espenschied, 92, of Dover died Friday, March 11, 2016 in the Park Village Health Care Center.

Born April 8, 1923 in Dover he was a son of the late Homer and Edna Harper Espenschied. Delmar was also preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia Espenschied in 1987, second wife, Nina Espenschied in 2006; four brothers, Dale, Albert, Fred and Jerry Espenschied; sisters, Edna Mae Espenschied, Betty Hummel; one stepson and one step grandson.

Delmar was the owner and operator of Espy's Tavern in Dover for over 17 years. He proudly served his country during WW II with the United States Army and was a life member of the Dover VFW. He loved being outdoors, fishing and golfing and spending time with his friends playing cards at the club.

Delmar will be sadly missed by his daughters, Lou Ann Johnson of New Philadelphia, Patty Jo (Mark) Main of Springfield, Ohio; sister, Ruth Brown of California; grandchildren, Todd (Staci) Abel, Jessica (Michael) Price, Jennifer (Addison) Michael; great grandchildren, Cory and Kyle Abel, Espen, Gibson and Paxten Price, Zane Conner; one step daughter and many step-grand and great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 14 at 2:00 pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover with Rev. Brian Flood officiating. Interment will be at the Dover Burial Park where the Dover VFW will conduct military graveside services. Following the burial, a luncheon will be held in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Friends can call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Monday.
