Dennis Lester Kohler, Sr.

Dennis L. "Denny" Kohler Sr., 82, of New Philadelphia passed away on April 11, 2013 at Park Village Health Care Center in Dover.

Born on March 22, 1931, he was the son of the late George E. Sr. and Gertrude P. Reichman Kohler. He graduated from Tuscarawas Warwick High School. On January 27, 1951, he married the love of his life, Nellie Burroway. Nellie preceded him in death on September 28, 2000. Denny honorably served our country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He retired from Alsco. He had also been employed at Larson Clay Pipe in Uhrichsville for 24 years.

He was a member of the Tuscarawas VFW, Uhrichsville Moose, and the St. James Lutheran Church in Tuscarawas. For over 40 years, he enjoyed playing Santa at the Uhrichsville Moose. Denny was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and loved spending time with his entire family.

He will be sadly missed by his children; Dennis (Rebecca) Kohler of New Philadelphia, Kenneth (Beth) Kohler of Dover, Steven (Anne) Kohler of New Philadelphia, Nancy (Sam) Smith of Dellroy; ten grandchildren, Ben (Melanie) Kohler of New Philadelphia, Jeremy (Kellie) Conklin of Bolivar, Jessica (Josh) Dallas of Mineral City, Justin (Kasey) Conklin of Dellroy, Matthew, Adam, and Luke Kohler all of Dover, Courtney, Stephaney, and Easton Kohler of New Philadelphia, along with eight great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, he is also preceded in death by; two sisters Elsie Robinson, Dorothy Milburn; and two brothers, William C. Kohler, and George E Kohler Jr.

A celebration of Denny's life will take place at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in New Philadelphia on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 11:00 am with Pastor Duane Houser officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Uhrichsville where military honors will be conducted. Following the service of committal, a meal will be served at the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Friday, April 12, 2013 from 5-7 pm.
