Dewey D. Daley, 72, of Dover passed away suddenly on Sunday, September 6, 2015.
Born on May 5, 1943 in Dover, he was the son of the late Dewey L. and Wanda R. (Fanti) Daley. Dewey graduated from New Philadelphia High School in 1961. He married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Sandy Winkler, on June 8, 1963.
Dewey honorably served in the United States Air Force from 1961 until 1965. He was stationed in Korea.
Dewey retired from Greer Steel and later drove for the Tuscarawas County Senior Center. He had been making deliveries for Buehler's for the last ten years.
He was a member of the Winfield United Methodist Church and a former member of the Dover Jaycee's. He took pride in his car and enjoyed keeping it in mint condition.
He was a devoted husband to Sandy for the last 52 years. He will also be missed by his children; Tony Daley of New Philadelphia, Debbie (Sam) Davis of Dundee, Tim Daley of Scottsdale, AZ; along with his brother, Steve Daley of New Philadelphia.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant sister; Linda Daley.
A celebration of Dewey's life will take place at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at 11:00am with Pastor LuAnn Youngman officiating. The Dover VFW will conduct military honors at the funeral home. Following the military service, a meal will be served at the Winfield United Methodist Church. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Friday, September 11, 2015 from 2:30-4:30pm and from 6:30-8:30pm.
