Dimple Scott

May 25, 1908 — July 2, 2000

Dimple K. Scott, 92, of the Park Village Health Care Center and formerly of Brookside Drive, Dover, Ohio died Sunday, July 2, 2000 in the center following a massive stroke.

She was formerly a schoolteacher and Principal at the South Williamson School in Kentucky.

Born May 25, 1908 in Blackberry, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Hi and Dixie Davis Keesee.

Dimple was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dover and former member of the First United Methodist Church in Williamson and Memorial UMC in West Williamson where she taught Sunday School and was active in the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Glowing Embers, Williamson Salvation Army Advisory Board and former member of A.I.M. She was honored as Mother of the Year in Williamson, W.Va., and was honorary parade marshall for the King Coal Festival. She was a world traveler and was a great storyteller and avid sports fan. She also enjoyed poetry. In her earlier years, she was very involved in community activities.She loved her friends at the Mill Restaurant and appreciated the wonderful care from the staff at Park Village.

She was preceded in death by her husband Haskell Scott who died February 14, 1966.

She is survived by one daughter Patricia (Ken) Harper of Rocky River, Ohio and her son, Rev. James (Nancy) Scott, recently retired pastor of the First United Methodist Church in Dover, now residing in Canton.

19 grandchildren many great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two stepdaughters, Geraldine Rivers and Gwendolyn Maynard along with three brothers and four sisters.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, July 5, 2000 at 10:30 AM in the First United Methodist Church at Dover with Rev. Dr. David Oliver officiating. Friends may call at the church Wednesday from 9:30- 10:30 AM. Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 5 PM in the Mountainview Memory Gardens near Williamson, W. Va.
