Don A. Maurer

Don A. Maurer, 38, of New Philadelphia, Ohio died Friday, March 10, 2006 at Aultman Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer.

Don was an employee of Dover Tank and Plate Co. in Dover. He had previously been manager of Discount Drug Mart in New Philadelphia for several years.

Don was a 1985 graduate of New Philadelphia High School. He attended the Dover Bible Church and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed Nascar.

Born April 12, 1967 in Dover, he was the son of Wade and Betty Ager Maurer of New Philadelphia. In addition to his parents, Don is survived by his wife, Kim York Maurer with whom he would have celebrated 15 years of marriage on April 20; one daughter, Taylor; three sisters, Vicki (Mark) Pape of New Philadelphia, Elizabeth “Liz” (Matt) Beachy of Sugarcreek and Diane (Merle) Stutzman of Apple Creek; his mother in law Nadine (William) Alexander of Dover and father in law, James York of Chicago; brother in law, Mark (Debra) York of Indiana and a sister in law, Angie; nieces and nephews, Margo and Mitchell Pape, Erin, Tess, and Broc Beachy, Logan and Megan Stutzman, Cory Simpson, Rian Pierce, Nikki Young; God sons, Mitchell Pape and Kamden Kaswinkel and his canine pal, Brownie. He is also survived by great aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral services celebrating Don�(TM)s life will be held Thursday, March 16, 2006 at 11am in the Dover Bible Church with Pastor Ed Scaglione officiating. Interment will be in the Ridgecrest Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Wednesday from 5-8 pm and Thursday at the church from 10-11 am.
