Donald A. Moore

Donald A. Moore, 85, of Dover, Ohio died Thursday, May 17, 2007 in the Hennis Care Centre at Dover following an extended illness.

Don was a retired maintenance employee for the Stone Container Company in New Philadelphia and had previously been employed at Joy Mfg. Co. He was also formerly a mail carrier for the Dover Postal Service.

Born February 4, 1922 in Littleton, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Jefferson and Stella (Hibbs) Moore.

Don attended the Dover Alliance Church. He was a member of the Tuscarawas County Senior Center, Dover VFW and was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was an avid musician where he played the guitar and harmonica and performed with numerous area bands. He was also a square dance caller.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dortha Burkholder Moore and his second wife, Bernice Bea Buss Wallick Moore. He was also preceded by a daughter, Lynette Kittridge and a sister, Mildred Moore.

Don is survived by a daughter, Darlene (Bob) Smith of Dover; two granddaughters, Lori Zabka and Cindy (Chris) Goehring both of Dover; three great grandchildren, Casey Zabka, Cassie (Joe) Hibinger, and Curtis Goehring; a brother, Tom (Mildred) Moore of Canton.

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 21, 2007 at 1:30pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover with Pastor Tim Steiner officiating. Interment will be in the Dover Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4pm.
