Donald Arnold Yenni, 82, of Park Village Health Care Center in Dover, went home to be with the lord on Saturday, February 4, 2006 after a long and fulfilling life. He was born March 19, 1923, in Dover to the late Arnold and Nora Swonger Yenni.
He retired from the former Columbia Fire Brick after many years of service, and attended Believers Assembly Church in Beach City. Donald was also a member of the Pine Hill Hunting Club and enjoyed playing Jass. His family remembers him as having a bit of a sweet tooth. He enjoyed chocolate candy, ice cream and a large variety of pies.
In additions to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Edna Haver Yenni, a son Larry Hibner, a brother; William, and a granddaughter; Jessica Rummes.
Donald is survived by a daughter; Sherry (David) Rummes of Dundee, a son; Bruce Yenni and his fiancée Roberta Jackson of Strasburg, five grandchildren; Chris Rummes of New Philadelphia, Heather (Brian) Gribble of Dundee, Ashli Yenni of new Philadelphia, Autumn Yenni of Columbus, and Ashante�(TM) Yenni of Dover, two great grandchildren; Skyler Laser and Dylan Gribble both of Dundee, and a sister; Verneda Stingel of Maryland, formerly of Strasburg.
A celebration of Donald�(TM)s life will be held at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory in Dover, on Wednesday, February 8, 2006 at 1:00 pm, with Pastor Wallace Cooper officiating. Interment will be at Dover Burial Park. Following the committal service, there will be a luncheon at the Monarch Center on the Boulevard in Dover. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 5-8 pm at the funeral home.
