Donald E. Weber, 83, of Navarre, and former Dover resident, died Saturday, August 5, 2006 in Massillon Community Hospital.
He was born January 3, 1923 at Dover and was the son of the late Ernest S. and Florence Dunlap Weber. The family had been well known for its longtime ownership of Kreamer-Weber Plumbing and Heating.
For more than 40 years, the Hoover Company had employed Donald. He began in the accounting department and through his years of training and experience, retired as an industrial engineer.
He was a man of great faith. Growing up in Dover, he was originally a member of the First United Methodist Church at Dover. He would go on to become active in church leadership as a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Canton, where he served on church council and was Sunday School Superintendent. He was most recently a member of the St. Jacob�(TM)s Lutheran church in N. Canton.
A 1941 graduate of Dover High School, Donald honorably served his country in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He, in following a tradition of his father�(TM)s, was affiliated with the N. Canton Elks Club. He also enjoyed listening to all kinds of music, but was especially fond of the Big Band sound of the Glenn Miller Orchestra.
In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his first wife, Beulah DeWeese Weber and his second wife Edna Everly Weber, as well as two brothers, Lt. Col. Retired, Alvin Weber & Robert Weber.
Surviving family members include: four children, Craig (Pat) Weber of Canton, Martha “Marty” (Richard) Chauvette of Corpus Christi, TX, Robert “Bob” (Leslie) Weber of Canal Fulton, and Faith (Fred) Steinke of Canton; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and a niece and nephew.
There are no public calling hours. Donald�(TM)s life will be celebrated in a private family ceremony Tuesday in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover. Interment will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery at Dover.
