Donald H. Loos

Donald H. Loos, 79, of Dover passed away Friday, October 9, 2009 at Union Hospital in Dover.

Born on October 6, 1930 in New Philadelphia, Ohio, he was the son of the late Harold "George" and Annabelle Espenschied Loos.

On June 17, 1948, he joined the United States Navy and courageously fought for our country during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged on June 16, 1952.

He married the love of his life Annabelle Johns, on July 7, 1951. Together they had three children. Donald enjoyed square dancing with Annabelle, and going camping with his family. Following Donald's retirement he and Annabelle spent many years camping at Springwood Campground in East Sparta, Ohio. They met many new friends. He was a member of the Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Dover.

Donald retired from IBM where he worked as a repairman for 34 years. After retirement, he continued to do repairs for many of his clients.

In addition to his wife Annabelle, he leaves behind two daughters, Debra (Carl) Mehaffey of Dover, and Barbara (Kelly) Sanders of Utah; his son, Mark (Lora) Loos of Dover; five grandchildren, Bryan Mehaffey, Christopher and Cody Loos, Clayton Ry Sanders, and Breanna Leigh Sanders; his brother, Carl (Ginny) Loos of Dover; and his sister Carol (Bob) Royer of Strasburg.

In honoring Donald's wishes, cremation will take place at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover. A private memorial service for the family and relatives will take place on Monday, October 12, 2009 at Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover with Pastor Marlin Drake officiating.
