Donald Leroy Linard

Donald "Don" "Duck" Leroy Linard, 80, of Dover passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2015 at Union Hospital surrounded by his family.

Born on July 4, 1935 in New Philadelphia, he was one of the nine siblings of the late Frank and Mary Belle (Beaver) Linard. He is also preceded in death by his two sons; Ernest Eugene Linard, Donald "DJ" James Linard; seven brothers, Ernie, Del, Jim, Bob, Frank, Bill, and Eugene; and sister, Ethel Kutcher.

Don attended New Philadelphia High School. On May 3, 1952 he married Betty Hopkins, who survives. He worked for the Robinson Clay Brickyard, and retired in 1982 from ODOT, where he was a truck driver. Don was a member of the Jerusalem Church. He enjoyed being outdoors; fishing, hunting, boating and camping. He loved all animals, especially his quarter horses, and enjoyed trail riding.

In addition to Betty, he will be sadly missed by his children; Barbie (Doug) Wills of New Philadelphia, Vicki (Jeff) Evans of New Philadelphia; three grandchildren, Megan Evans of New Philadelphia, Christy (Jimmy) Mulheman of New Philadelphia, Amanda Linard of Wisconsin; along with four great-grandchildren, Penelope, Mila, and Bay Mulheman all of New Philadelphia, and DJ Linard of Wisconsin.

A celebration of Don's life will be held at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at 1:00pm with Pastor John Wallace officiating. Interment will take place Evergreen Burial Park. Following the service of committal, a meal will be served at the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Friends can call at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 from 5-7pm.
