Donald O. “Bud” Keffer, 87, of Strasburg, died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2003, in his home, following an extended illness.
Born Apr. 11, 1916, in Nineveh, Warwick Twp., Tuscarawas Co., he was a son of the late Arthur and Myrtle Wilson Keffer. Don retired in 1987 from the Republic Steel Corp., Massillon, following over thirty-five years of service. He was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Strasburg.
Don is survived by his beloved wife, Ada Gordon Keffer, with whom he celebrated sixty-six years of marriage on Mar. 3, 2003. He is also survived by two daughters, Darlene (Don) Adams of Big Prairie, and Joy (Jerry) Fetters of Strasburg; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Myrtle Zifer of Dover; and his special buddy, Rico.
In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by two grandsons, Jeff and Brian Hollingsworth; a sister, Eva; a brother, Earl; and a twin brother who died at birth, Delbert.
A loving husband, father, grandfather, Don will be fondly remembered for the kindness and joy that he brought to all of his family and friends.
A funeral service celebrating Don�(TM)s life will be held Monday, Dec. 8, at 11 a.m., in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, 232 N. Wooster Ave., Strasburg. Pastor Fred W. Grosse will officiate. Burial will be in Grandview Union Cemetery, Strasburg. There will be a meal in the First Evangelical Lutheran Church following the committal.
