Donald P. ''Don'' Kennedy

Donald P. ''Don'' Kennedy, 75, of Dover, died Wednesday, March 27, 2002 in Aultman Hospital at Canton after a short illness.

He retired in 1989 as the Superintendent of strip processing at Empire Detroit in Dover after 36 years of service.

Born November 29, 1926 at Youngstown, he was son of the late William ''Ted'' & Jane M. Kennedy, Sr.

Don was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church at Dover who had also been active as a former member of Parish Council, serving as Eucharistic Minister, lector, Vicariate Pastoral Council, Diocesan Parish Council, K of C, St. Joe's Seniors, and the Columbus Cursillo. He received the Diocesan Service Award from the Diocese of Columbus.

He was a Past Exalted Ruler of the Dover Elks and enjoyed the Elks bowling & senior golf leagues. He served as president of the Dover Public Library Board, was an active volunteer for Hospice of Tuscarawas County and had also been a troop committee member and chartered organization representative of Cub & Boy Scouting.

A 1945 graduate of Dover High School and a 1951 graduate of John Carroll University, Don was also a veteran of the Army who served during World War II. Professionally, he had been a member of the American Iron & Steel Institute where he served as a member of the Galvanizing committee.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia M. ''Ginny'' Fagley, whom he wed on June 19, 1948.

In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by two brothers: William E. Kennedy, Jr. & Robert J. Kennedy.

A funeral mass will be held Monday, April 1, at 11:30am in the St. Joseph Catholic Church at Dover with Fr. William Arnold officiating. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery at Dover. Friends may call on Sunday from 5-8pm in Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, Dover. Elks�(TM) services will be held Sunday at 5:00pm and Christian Wake services will be held at 7:45pm. Frienda may also call from 10-11am on Monday at the funeral home.
