Donald R. Hothem

Donald R. Hothem, 68, of Delaware, Ohio, and formerly of New Philadelphia, passed away on Saturday, April 28, 2018 in Country View of Sunbury.

Born March 24, 1950 in Canton, he was a son of the late Louis and Ruth Youtz Hothem. Don was also preceded in death by his sister, Mary Ellen Morris. He grew up in East Sparta, and graduated from Sandy Valley High School in 1968. Following his graduation, Don worked at the Timken Co. in Canton for 32 years until his retirement in 2000. Always one to stay active, he worked at Buehlers in New Philadelphia from 2005 to 2011.

Don will be sadly missed by his wife of 42 years, Sandra “Sandy” Harris Hothem whom he married on June 15, 1975; son, Daniel R. Hothem of Columbus; grandson, Raymond Hothem of Pennsylvania; brother, Roger (Nancy) Hothem; sister, Glenda (Scott) Pardi both of California and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 4th at 11:00 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover with Rev. Brian Flood officiating. Interment will be at the Dover Burial Park.
