Donald R. Keller, 67, of Dover passed away December 31, 2005 following a lengthy illness. He was born July 21, 1938 in Hermanie, Pennsylvania to the late Dr. C.H. and Goldie Wechtenhiser Keller.
He graduated from Green Local in Green, Ohio. After graduation he attended the University of Pittsburgh before joining the Army. He was stationed at Fort Detrick where he served on the chemical and biological unit. Following his discharge, he attended the University of Akron where he graduated with a degree in Biology. He taught science for Akron City Schools and Dover City Schools for close to 20 years. His love of sports also led him to coach both boys and girls basketball.
He was a member of the First Moravian Church in Dover where he sang in the chancel choir and served as an elder.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen (Park) Keller, whom he married April 24, 1965. In addition, he is survived by two daughters, Donna Keller and Debra (Eric) Linton; two grandchildren, Samuel and Rachel Linton; sister, Elaine (Roy) Drum; brother, Dr. J. David (Ginny) Keller; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Charles H. Keller.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2006 at 11:00 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Homes and Crematory at Dover with Rev. Allen Bergmann officiating. Burial will be at Dover Burial Park. Friends can call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6-8 pm.
