Donna L. Collar Studer

Donna L. Collar Studer, 84, of New Philadelphia died Sunday, December 8, 2013 in the Park Village Health Care Center.

Born February 16, 1929 in Akron she was a daughter of the late Charles and Nora Burkhammer Luff Kramer. Donna was also preceded in death by her first husband, George Collar on January 21, 2001 and her second husband, Kenneth Studer on January 21, 2008; step father, Milford Kramer; son, George Collar Jr. and adopted son, Robert Gump.

Donna retired from Dr. Gennert's office in Dover after 15 years as a Dental Assistant and had also worked at the New Philadelphia Buehlers for many years. She was an active person within her community, volunteering at Hospice Browse and Buy and Trinity Hospital in Dennison; member of the Tabor Ridge Community Church for over 65 years where she sang in the choir, played the piano, taught Sunday school and held numerous offices throughout the years. She was also a member of the Senior Center and sang in their choir as well, and when her children where in school she served as President of the PTA for New Cumberland Schools and was a Teachers Aid.

A wonderful and loving mother and grandmother, Donna will be sadly missed by her daughters, Sharon (Red) Sampsel and Clara (Bruce) Ickes both of New Philadelphia; brother, George (Bev) Luff of Sherrodsville; sister, Shirley (Walter) Lewis of Gnadenhutten; grandchildren, Michelle Copen, Carrie Wise, Mitch (Heather) Strain, Jason and Dawn Biechler, Jon (Patty) Ickes, Greg Ickes, Stephanie Jones and Bruce Ickes; her adopted family, Lynn Gump and her son Robbie (Angie) Gump and their 3 children; 20 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild, four step children and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 11 at 11:00 am in the Tabor Ridge Community Church at 3398 Tabor Ridge Rd. NE Mineral City with Pastor John Dunn officiating. Interment will be in the Holmes Church Cemetery. Friends can call in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover on Tuesday from 5-8 pm.
