Donna V. Miller, 84, of Somerdale died Friday, March 30, 2012 in her home following an extended illness.
Donna retired in 1992 as Postmaster of Somerdale where she worked for 27 years.
Born July 24, 1927 in Logan, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Bert and Freda (Wilson) Holcomb.
Donna was a member of the Somerdale Maranatha Bible Church at Somerdale. She served as a volunteer for Hospice of Tuscarawas County (now Community Hospice) and enjoyed assisting the elderly. She also belonged to the Tuscarawas County Senior Citizens and NARFE. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and loved cooking.
In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her husband William "Bill" Miller who died July 29, 1989 along with her son, Bill and five brothers and five sisters.
She will be sadly missed by her family including a daughter Twila (Mitch) Dunn and son, Robert "Bobby" (Susan) Miller both of Somerdale; two stepdaughters Sandy Johns of Marshallville, Ohio and Marjorie (Art) Patterson of Akron; a sister, Shirley Ball of Somerdale and thirteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
A funeral service celebrating Donna's life will be held Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at 11am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory at Dover with her grandson, Peter Price and Pastor Dick Harvey officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband, Bill in the New Cumberland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5-8pm and Wednesday from 10-11am.
