Dora F. Tecco, age 83, of Dover passed away peacefully Saturday evening, August 9, 2003 in Union Hospital, under the care of Hospice of Tuscarawas County, following a 5-month illness.
Born November 9, 1919 in Petterano, Italy, she came to New Philadelphia at the age of one along with her parents and sister. She was the daughter of the late Dominic and Donata Spagnoli Ginnetti of New Philadelphia.
On June 5, 1943 she married John L. Tecco. They were married 47 years before his death on December 12, 1990.
Dora was a homemaker and had worked at the former Nichols store. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church of Dover where she belonged to its Senior Citizens, LCBA, and Regina Study Club. She was also an active member of Dover AARP and until her illness had served for many years as an active volunteer for Hospice of Tuscarawas County working in the office and organizing the monthly Out-To-Lunch Bunch group.
She is survived by a daughter Donna (Bill) Heid of Dover and a son John (Cathy) Tecco of Westlake, Ohio; three grandchildren, Erin Koch of Stamford, Ct. and Nicholas and Holly Tecco of Westlake. Aslo surviving are two sisters, Jean Nicholetti of Canton and Gladys (Rudy) Keck of Steward, Pa; two brothers, Dominic (Kay) Ginnetti of Dennison and Tony (Betty) Ginnetti of Dover along with many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret D�(TM)Alesio, a brother Frank Ginnetti and an infant brother Joseph.
A funeral mass celebrating Dora�(TM)s life will be held Wednesday, August 13 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. William Arnold officiating. Dora will be buried alongside her husband John at Calvary Cemetery in New Philadelphia. Friends may call in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, Dover on Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. where a Christian Wake service will be held at 8:30 p.m.
