Dora J. Burrell

Dora J. Burrell, 77, of Dover, died Monday, June 11, 2007, in Union Hospital after a long illness.

Born May 13, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Floyd R. & Martha Miller Meese.

She had been employed by U.S. Ceramics at East Sparta, but mostly enjoyed being a homemaker.

Dora had most recently attended Ruslin Hills Church at Dover, and had been a member of Order of Eastern Star.

She took great pride in her family, loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, and was blessed with 58 years of marriage to the love of her life, Max E. Burrell, who survives.

Other surviving family members include: two daughters, Brenda (Larry) Wallick of Dover, and Beth (Larry) McClain of New Philadelphia; a son, Brian Burrell of Dover; sister Iva F. Rausch of Dover; brother George “Eddie” (Sue) Meese II of New Philadelphia; six grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, and many loving great, and step-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, a son, Barney Burrell, brother, Dale Meese, and a sister, Thelma Williams, preceded Dora in death.

A service celebrating her life will be held Wednesday, June 13, at 12:00 p.m. in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover with Pastor Jeff Matthews officiating. Friends may call in the funeral home on Wednesday one hour prior to services.

Immediately following the service, family and friends are invited to a meal being held in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center on the Boulevard.
