Doris J. Miceli

Doris J. Miceli, age 96, a life-long resident of Dover, passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2020, in Dover’s Park Village Health Care Center.

Born February 19, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Clinton and Pearl Graef Marburger. Doris graduated from Dover High School in 1942, and, on November 21st of that year, married Albert A. Miceli, a young Marine who was getting ready to go overseas and fight in the Second World War. The couple went on to have five children and share sixty-eight years of marriage prior to Albert’s passing on March 15, 2011.

Doris was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and was former co-owner of the M & M Market in Dover. She was a faithful member of St, Joseph Church, Dover, the American Business Women’s Association and the Tuscarawas County Genealogical Society. In her spare time, Doris enjoyed playing bridge.

She is survived by her daughter and three sons, Jane (Ken) Rinehart of Dover, Morris (JoNell) Miceli of Wheat Ridge, Colorado, John Miceli and James (Audra) Miceli, both also of Dover; her eight grandchildren; her eleven great-grandchildren; her sister, Ruth (Jack) Richard of Longmont, Colorado; and her nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Albert, Doris was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Ann Miceli; her granddaughter, Tessa Ann Miceli; and her twin brother, Morris J. Marburger.

Due to the COVID- 19 health crisis, a private graveside service will be held in St. Joseph Calvary Cemetery; Fr. Jimmy Hatfield will officiate. A memorial Mass will be held later at a safer time.
