Dorothy A. Lemay

Dorothy A. LeMay, 98, passed away in Cedar Park, Texas on November 18, 2012. A long-time Dover resident, she had been active in St. Joseph's Church and its Loyola Study Club. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, George Francis LeMay, Sr., also active in St. Joseph's Church and the Knights of Columbus. Following her husband's death in 1996, she relocated from Dover to Texas to be with family.

The only child of John and Frances Shires, she lived in Troy, New York and attended Troy Business College. After her marriage in 1937 she lived in New York, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Florida, Ohio and Texas.

She was also preceded in death by son-in-law Dennis Klein, grandson Robert Cowhey, and grandson Chris Murphy.

She is survived by daughter Carol LeMay Murray of Madison, Alabama, daughter Barbara LeMay Cowhey of Springfield, Massachusetts, daughter Frances LeMay Somerville and son-in-law Roger Somerville of Palm Coast, Florida, daughter Janice LeMay Smith of Perrysburg, Ohio, son George Francis LeMay, Jr. and daughter-in-law Rita LeMay of New Philadelphia, Ohio, daughter Kathleen LeMay Klein of Leander, Texas, and many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Friday, May 17, at 11 a.m. in the Mausoleum of Sunset Hills Burial Park, 5001 Everhard Rd. N.W., Canton. Condolences may be posted on the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home website.
