Dorothy J. Fishel

Dorothy J. Fishel, 84, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 12, 2014 in the Hennis Care Centre at Dover.

Born December 27, 1929 in New Philadelphia she was a daughter of the late Cletus and Minnie Huff Groh. Dorothy was also preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Ball and Margaret McClusky.

She worked along-side her husband with Fishel Decorating in Dover for many years and was a member of the First United Church of Christ at New Philadelphia. Dorothy was a loving, supportive mother to her three children. Not only was her caring nature felt by her family, it was also extended to her friends, tenants and any animals that came her way. Always put together, whether it was her love of fashion, ability to remember birthdays and anniversaries or her strong organizational skills that ran the family rental and painting businessshe was a lady to the end. Dorothy will be missed by many.

Dorothy is survived by her husband of 64 years, Donald J. Fishel whom she married on September 10, 1950; children, Cindy (Tom) Vickers of Uhrichsville, Elaine Fishel and Doug Fishel both of Dover; sister, Esther McMillan of Las Vegas; 11 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 15 at 4:00 pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover with Rev. Thomas Dunkle officiating. Friends can call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Monday.
