Dorothy J. Hixenbaugh, 71, of Dover, died Monday, September 23, 2002 in Aultman Hospital at Canton.
Born September 30, 1930 at Waynesburg, PA, she was daughter of the late Shirdon & Marie Laya Pringle.
Dorothy was a member of the First Christian Church in Dover and had been active in its Women�(TM)s Outreach. She was skilled at using her hands and enjoyed knitting and crocheting.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond Hixenbaugh, whom she wed on June 25, 1949.
Other survivors include: five loving children; Joyce Peters of Dover, Shirdon “Butch” & Chris Hixenbaugh of New Phila., Judy & Wayne Thomas of Dover, Pamela & Dean Lautzenheiser of Dover, Jerry & Patti Hixenbaugh of Stone Creek, eleven grandchildren; Eric David Peters, Scott & Randy Corbin, Russ & Sherry Pringle, Matthew & Nathan Thomas, Molly & Mandy Lautzenheiser, Todd & Brittany Hixenbaugh, two brothers; Glen & Bev Pringle of New Phila., and Kenny & Reba Pringle of Dover, and sister-in-law, Gladys Sims of Falling Water, West Virginia.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Eugene, Ronald, and infant brother James, and a sister, Shirley “Dolly” Ankney.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 26, at 11:00am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, Dover with Don Campbell officiating. Interment will be in the Dover Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9pm and one hour prior to services on Thursday.
