Dorothy J. “Jeanie” McDonald, 67, of Beach City, died Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2004, in Aultman Hospital, Canton, following a lengthy illness.
Born Jul. 10, 1936, in Hopedale, she was a daughter of Bernice D. Milhorn Amos of Beach City, and the late Wray T. Amos. Jeanie attended school in Brewster, and was employed by Massillon State Hospital for twenty-two-and-a-half years. She was a member of the Beach City United Methodist Church, Order of the White Shrine, Massillon, and American Legion Auxiliary of Beach City.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Leonard M. McDonald, Sr., whom she wed Sept. 1, 1953, in Navarre; a daughter, Connie (Jim) Hall of Beach City; a son, Leonard “Marty” (Jennifer) McDonald, Jr. of Port Washington; six grandsons, Danny, Eric, Dominic, Ray and Zachary McDonald, and Donnie Hall; a great-grandson, Donnie Hall, Jr.; and a sister, Shirley Stout of Wooster.
A funeral service celebrating Jeanie�(TM)s life will be held Saturday, Jan. 10, at 11 a.m., in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, 803 N. Wooster Ave., Dover. Rev. Mitchell Ladich will officiate. Burial will be in South Lawn Cemetery, Beach City. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Friday, Jan. 9, 6-8 p.m., and Saturday, 10-11 a.m., in the funeral home.
