D. June Beitzel
Dorothy June Beitzel, 79, of New Philadelphia, Ohio died Sunday, August 29, 2004 in Union Hospital following a nine month illness.
She was a sales clerk for Elder Beerman in New Philadelphia and had previously been a clerk for the former Cooper Shoe Stores in Dover and New Phila and Lanza and Zuckerman Jewelry stores.
She was born June 18, 1925 near Ragersville, Ohio, the daughter of the late John and Edith Iona Knecht Berger.
She was a member of the St. John�(TM)s United Church of Christ in Dover and was active in the Ragersville Historical Society. She was a graduate of Sugarcreek High School and enjoyed cooking and collecting antiques. She was deeply involved in genealogy.
June was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Elden M. Beitzel who died May 4, 1999.
She is survived by her son and daughter in law Gregory (Peggy) Beitzel of Zanesville; a daughter in law Katina Beitzel of Coshocton; two grandsons, Jason C. (Michelle) Beitzel of Roscoe, Ohio and Joshua M. (Kara) Beitzel of Granville, Ohio; three great grandchildren Dalton, Taylor and McKenna Beitzel; five sisters and one brother, Lolabelle Miller of Dover, Roland (Lucille) Berger of Baltic, Marilyn Hutchison of New Philadelphia, Celesta Daugherty of Dover, Linda (Carl) Siders of Grove City, Ohio and Tina (Ray) Mathias of New Philadelphia along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Don Lee Beitzel and Elden Ray Beitzel, one brother, Franklin Berger, and a sister, Fern Truex.
A funeral service celebrating June�(TM)s life will be held Wednesday, September 1, 2004 at 1:30 pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover with Rev. Steve Daniels officiating. Interment will be in the Dover Burial Park. A reception will follow in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-7 pm.
