Dorothy L. Bowers, 84, of Dover passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at Park Village Health Care Center in Dover.
Dorothy was born on March 19, 1937, in Dundee, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Clarence and Elizabeth (Flinner) Frye. On October 18, 1958, she married Howard D. Bowers, who preceded her in death on April 4, 2015. She was also preceded in death by her two brothers,
Dorothy worked at many different places throughout the county. She also had her own tax preparation business that she operated from her home.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Apple Creek where she served on the finance committee. She was a 4-H Advisor and a member of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed craft projects, including quilting.
She leaves behind her children; Ronald (Mariane) Bower of New York; their children, Blake, Joseph, Emily, and Samuel; Brenda (Michael) Kennedy of Florida; and their children, Brooke (Alex) Nimick and Nicole (Bryan) Neth; Martha Fondriest of Ohio; and her children, Jacob and Matthew (Madelyn) Fondriest; and Samuel Bowers of Ohio; along with four great-grandchildren, James, Jonathan, Vera, and Lydia.
Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, there will be a private service for the family. The Toland-Herzig Funeral Homes & Crematory in Dover are handling the arrangements.
