Dorothy L. Roberts, 79, of Dover and a former New Philadelphia resident died Friday, September 24, 2004 in the home of her daughter, Mary, following an extended illness.
Dorothy was a Registered OB Nurse, having retired in 1987 from Union Hospital in 1987 after 29 years of service.
Born December 4, 1924 in Ragersville she was a daughter of the late Roy and Mary Nelson Hostetler.
She was a member of Jerusalem Church in New Philadelphia, Bethesda Hospital Nurses Alumni Association in Zanesville and the Union Hospital Retirees.
Dorothy is survived by two daughters, Vicki Maurer of Uhrichsville and Mary (Dennis) McClain of Dover; son, M. Mark Roberts of Blacklick, Ohio; five grandchildren, Michael, Bryan and Christopher Maurer, Tina Tristano and Phillip Tristano; 12 great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Jean Wendling and Grace Hostetler; former husband, Mel Roberts and a grandson, Michael Donovan Maurer.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 27, 2004 at 7:00 pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover with Rev. Terry Downin officiating. Cremation will follow the service, with burial at the Ridgecrest Memory Gardens. Friends can call at the funeral home on Monday from 5-7 pm.
