Dorothy M. Borland, age 100, of Dover, and a former resident of Carrollton, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2016, in Park Village Health Care Center at Dover.
Born May 22, 1915, at Carrollton, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Anna Nihart Wagner. Dorothy attended Carrollton High School and was employed by the Ben Franklin Store at Carrollton for forty-two years, retiring as manager. She moved to Dover in 1992 to be closer to her loved ones, and joined Dover's Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church. Dorothy enjoyed knitting making many items for family, friends and church.
Survivors include her daughter, Phyllis (Bert) Kohler of Dover; her grandchildren, Cindi (Mark) Perry and Tom (Peg) Smith, both of Dover, and Michele (Gary) Fisher of Mineral City; her four step-grandchildren; her three great-grandchildren; her six step-great-grandchildren; her five great-great-grandchildren; her two step-great-great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Shirley Wagner of New Philadelphia; her three nieces and four nephews.
In addition to her parents, her sister, Sarah Ashbaugh, and her brothers, Herman, Don and Ross Wagner, preceded Dorothy in death.
Honoring Dorothy's wishes, private family services will be held. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery at Carrollton.
