Dorothy M. Hummel

Dorothy M. Hummel, 86, of Dover died Monday, December 28, 2015 in the Schoenbrunn Health Care Center.

Born March 11, 1929 in Dover she was a daughter of the late S.L. and Lula McClain Vandevort. Dorothy was also preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Hummel on August 9, 1989; daughter, Linda Hummel; brothers, Norman and Leonard Vandevort and sister, Mildred Cyphert.

She is survived by her sons, Chuck Hummel of Toledo and William "Bill" Hummel of Dennison; daughter, Joyce (Bob) Ford of New Philadelphia; six grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 2 at 11:00 am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover with Rev. David Wing officiating. Following the service, a luncheon will be held at the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Friends can call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
