Dorothy M. “Dory” Maurer, 73, of Dover, died Wednesday, May 22, 2002 at Union Hospital.

Born January 16, 1929 at New Philadelphia, she was daughter of the late Elmer & Florence Dell Swinderman.

Dorothy had a talent for painting china and enjoyed displaying her works at craft shows.

On June 7, 1946 she wed her husband Robert E. Maurer, who passed away on January 1, 2001.

Mike & Kim Maurer of Dover

SisterMarjorie Weigand of Dover

2 granddaughters, 1 grandson, 1 great granddaughter, 3 step-grandsons, 1 step-great granddaughter, 1 step-great grandson

Many nieces and nephews

In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Floyd & Robert Swinderman, and a sister, Betty Jewel.

A private family graveside service will be held Saturday in the Ridgecrest Memory Gardens in Dover. Friends may call in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, Dover on Friday (tonight) from 6-8pm.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
