Dorothy S. Bair, 89, of Dover died Monday, November 14, 2016 in the Hennis Care Centre.

Born August 26, 1927 in Midvale she was a daughter of the late Branko and Leona Kocis Samardeya. Dorothy was also preceded in death by her first husband, Harold Morris in 1975 and a sister, Helen Moore in 2010.

She attended Midvale High School and was the first editor of the school newspaper, head majorette and wrote a high school play which was performed by the theatre department. At the age of 19 she owned and operated her first beauty shop, Jan Ray Beauty Shop in Uhrichsville; and later, she owned Morris Beauty Shop in New Philadelphia. Dorothy was a 60 year member of the First United Methodist Church in New Philadelphia, Tuscarawas County Hairdressers Association, where she served as President and Vice-President. She was also the President of the Tuscarawas County Philharmonic League.

Dorothy is survived by her second husband, Delbert Bair, whom she married on October 13, 1978; daughter, Marcie Morris Scholl and her husband, Michael Scholl of Worthington; step daughters, Sue Ellen Ott of New Philadelphia, Ruth Lynne (Ronald) Hodges of South Carolina, Charold Baer of Oregon; step sons, Harold (Betsy) Morris Jr. of Dover, Bruce (Ginger) Bair of Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren, Madeline, Miranda, Mollie, Michaela, Matthew, Amber, Ron Jr., Amanda and five great grandchildren.

Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover. Private family services will be held at a later date. Those wishing to express their fondest memories of Dorothy may do so by visiting the online obituaries and flowers link on the funeral homes website.
