Dorothy Sexton

Dorothy Sexton, 89, of Strasburg went to be with the Lord, Good Friday, April 22, 2011 in the Hennis Care Center in Bolivar.

Dorothy was born September 10, 1921 in Olive Hill, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Jack and Anna (Gillam) Reeves.

She was a member of the Believers Assembly Church in Beach City. Her church and her family were her life and will be remembered as a wonderful mom and grandma. She also enjoyed cooking. She was the last of ten brothers and sisters.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Willie Sexton who died January 11, 2006.

She will be sadly missed by her seven children Judy (Larry) Boughman of Bolivar, Nancy Sexton and Joan Sexton both of Strasburg, Shirley (Fred) Webb of Phoenix, Arizona, William (Sally) Sexton of Dundee, Larry (Delores) Sexton of North Carolina and Rick Sexton of Beach City, Ohio. She is also survived by eighteen grandchildren and thirty seven great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by one daughter, Alice Pickar, two sons, Paul and Jerry Sexton, one granddaughter, Cindy; four brothers, Sherman, Bert, Berkley, and Paul "Junior" Reeves, three sisters, Dovie Henderson, Grace Bond, and Berthie Reeves and two infant siblings.

Dorothy's life will be celebrated Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at 2pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory at Dover with Gene Cooper officiating. Interment will be in the Grandview Union Cemetery at Strasburg. A reception will follow in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center. Friends will be received Monday, April 25, 2011 from 5-8 pm in the funeral home.
