Dorse E. Jenkins

Dorse E. Jenkins, 74, of Strasburg, died Monday, June 26, 2006 in the Hennis Care Centre at Bolivar.

Born September 26, 1931 in the family home at Strasburg�(TM)s French Hill area, he was the son of the late Roy & Laura Hunt Jenkins.

He was, for more than 20 years, a tile hauler of U.S. Ceramic tile, and had also spent time working as a school crossing guard.

Dorse was a fun-loving man who enjoyed camping, fishing, and being outdoors just about as much a he loved sitting with friends and family, sharing stories and playing cards.

His wife, Irene Grub Jenkins, died in 1988.

He is survived by a loving extended family, which includes: Donna Rankin of Strasburg, Ray Jenkins of New Philadelphia, Donald Jenkins of Dover, Larry (Carol) Price of Canton, Melvin (Carol) Schrader of Louisiana, and Connie Cook of Dover.

A funeral service celebrating Dorse�(TM)s life will be held Saturday, July 1, at 2:00 p.m. in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, Dover. Friends may call in the funeral home on Saturday from noon until time of services at 2:00pm. Cremation will follow services and burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Louisville.

The family asks that memorial gifts be made to the Activity Fund, Hennis Care Center, 300 Yant St., Bolivar to assist others in enjoying some of the great games and events that Dorse did in his time there.
