Doyle E. Stauffer

Doyle E. Stauffer, 78, of Dover, Ohio died Friday, February 15, 2008 in the Hennis Care Centre at Dover following an extended illness.

Born August 14, 1929 in Sugarcreek, he was the son of the late Rudy and Ruth (Barthlemeh) Stauffer.

Doyle retired in 1991 from the Reeves Steel Company at Dover where he worked for 43 years.

He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Dover. He was also a member of the Dover Elks Lodge and a social member of the Dover VFW. He enjoyed gardening and playing an occasional round of golf. He also loved to fish with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Carmi Petrullo Stauffer with whom he would have celebrated sixty years of marriage on August 14; He is also survived by his daughter, Linda (Maurice) Schilling of Dover and son, Tim Stauffer of Columbus; three grandchildren, Kim (Tom) Dunkes of Granville, Ohio, Justin Schilling of Columbus and Branden Schilling of Dover; three great grandchildren, Sophia, Liam, and Emma Dunkes; a sister, Lauretta Zesiger of Sugarcreek and two brothers, Dean (Sharon) Stauffer of Sugarcreek and Gordon (Eileen) Stauffer of Dover along with several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at 11am in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover with Fr. William Arnold officiating. Interment will be in the Union Hill Cemetery at Sugarcreek. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 5-8pm.
