Doyle J. Andrews, 73, of Tippecanoe died Friday, May 20, 2005 following injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He retired from Republic Storage in Canton and was currently employed at Wal-Mart in the Lawn and Garden Department.
Born June 13, 1931 in Sugarcreek he was a son of the late Charles and Ada Levengood Andrews.
Doyle was a life member of Union Hill United Methodist Church in Sugarcreek and was also a member of Lima Presbyterian Church in Stillwater where he served as an Elder. He as an avid gardener who enjoyed planting flowers and vegetables, this was a true labor of love for Doyle. He also hunted and took great pride in reading his Bible. Doyle loved the Lord, and he shared that love by supporting a foster child overseas through a mission fund. Doyle will be sadly missed by all who knew him, he will always be remembered as a man that would do most anything for his family and friends.
Doyle is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Kohutko Andrews with whom he celebrated 19 years of marriage on March 28, 2005.
He is also survived by five children, Terry (Diane) Andrews of Scappose, Oregon, Dan (Joyce) Andrews of Dover, Cindy (Keith) Hay of Dover, Marla Angelo of North Canton and Mark (Brenda) Andrews of Louisville; brother, Dale (Donna) Andrews of Dover and a sister, Norma Hawkins of Dover; 12 grandchildren, one step-grandchild, two great-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place. A service celebrating Doyle�(TM)s life will be held on Tuesday, May 24, 2005 at 1:00 pm in the Union Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. Carl Kandel and Rev. Carolyn Behrendt officiating. Interment of the ashes will take place following the service in the Union Hill Cemetery. There are no calling hours. The Toland-Herzig Funeral Homes and Crematory in Dover are handling the arrangements. The Andrews family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to all the men and women of the Tippecanoe Volunteer Fire Department, especially to Alice Laport for always going above and beyond the call of duty for Doyle.
