Dueber G. Thompson, 79, of 118 North Johnson Ave., Dover, died Thursday, Mar. 13, 2003, in Hennis Care Centre.
Born Jan. 20, 1924, in Dover, he was a son of the late Edison B. and Antoinette V. Beiter Thompson. Dueber graduated in 1942 from Dover High School, and went on to serve honorably with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. Following the war, he was employed by the Hercules Motor Corp., Canton, and later, by Gradall, from which he retired.
Dueber was a member of St. John�(TM)s United Church of Christ, Dover. He was a former member of the Eagles, Moose and V.F.W., all of Dover. Dueber some of Dueber�(TM)s favorite pastimes were bowling and gardening.
Survivors include a daughter, Rose Ann (Gene) Fink of Fairview Park; three sons, David (Sherry) Thompson of Sydney, Australia, Edison Thompson of Dover, and Steven Thompson of Cambridge; three grandchildren, Allen Dueber Thompson, Dan Ready and Teresa West; and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alma Diehl Thompson in 1995; a grandson, Chad Thompson; a sister, Pauline Thompson; and two brothers, Alva and Ralph Thompson.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, Mar. 20, 2003, at 11 a.m., in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home, Dover, with Rev. Steven Daniels officiating. Burial will be in Dover Burial Park where the Dover post of the V.F.W. will conduct military rites. Following the committal, there will be a reception in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center.
