E. Jane Milburn

E. Jane Milburn, 90, a longtime New Philadelphia resident, died Monday, July 30, 2012 in her home, surrounded by her family.

She was born September 24, 1921 at New Cumberland, one of ten children of the late A. Victor and Anna Roberts Kollar.

Jane was a devoted member of New Philadelphia's First Church of the Nazarene. She was known for her delicious cooking and her love of flowers. Over the years she put her culinary skills to use at a number of area restaurants including, Michael's, Denny's and the Dutch Oven. A hard working woman her entire life, she was also employed by a number of area dry cleaners as well.

Her husband, Homer F. Milburn, preceded her in death on September 9, 1986.

Surviving family members include: a son, H. Dale (Karen) Milburn of Brewster; daughter Jane Schocksnider of Bergholz; 15 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and 26 great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Victor (Helen) Kollar and James Kollar; and a sister, Wanda Ehrhart.

Along with her parents and husband, Jane was preceded in death by: a son, Fred Milburn; son-in-law, Gene Schocksnider; great-great grandson, Shannon; three brothers, William, John and Fred; and three sisters, Velma, Ann and Vera.

A member of her extended family, Rev. Wendell J. Beal, will officiate a funeral service celebrating Jane's life on Friday, August 3 at 10:30 a.m. in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory, 246 E. High Avenue, New Philadelphia. Interment will be in the Ridgecrest Memory Gardens. Friends may call in the funeral home on Thursday from 6-9 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts are to be made to Community Hospice, 716 Commercial Ave, SW, New Philadelphia.
