Earl A. ''Pete'' Flickinger, 91, of Strasburg died Tuesday, May 16, 2000 at his home following an extended illness.
He retired from North America Refactory in Strasburg and was a self employed backhoe operator for many years.
Born November 10, 1908 in Green Leaf, Idaho he was a son of the late Charles and Ollie Law Flickinger.
He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Strasburg and the Tuscarawas County Senior Citizens. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.
Earl is survived by his wife Gladys Snyder Flickinger with whom he would have celebrated 71 years of marriage on October 12, 2000.
He is also survived by a son: Paul and Della Flickinger of Dover
Daughter: Elnora and Richard Fuhrer of Strasburg
8 grand and 12 great grand
Many nieces, nephews and cousins
He was also preceded in death by a brother: Roy Flickinger
Three sisters: Agnes Keplinger, Mary Speicher and an infant sister.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 22, 2000 at 10:00 am in the First Lutheran Church at Strasburg with Pastor Fred Grosse officiating. Interment will be in the Grandview Union Cemetery at Strasburg. Friends may call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home in Dover on Sunday from 2-5.
