Earl D. Lafferty

Earl D. Lafferty, 89, of Dover, died Monday, February 10, 2003 in the Morning View Care Center.

He retired in 1977, from the former Masonite Corp of Dover.

Born February 15, 1913 at Prestonburg, KY, he was the son of the late M.D. and Alice Gray Lafferty.

A member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church at Dover, Earl served in the CCC before enlisting in the Army for duty during World War II. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He also enjoyed being outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Earl is survived by his loving wife, Bertha (Walters) Lafferty, whom he wed on December 29, 1945.

Other survivors include: a daughter; Patricia (William) Steiner of Middlefield, OH, a sister; Lulamae Derossette of Prestonburg, KY, two grandchildren; David of Jerry City, Ohio and Lisa of Sarver, PA.

In addition to his parents, Earl was preceded in death by a son, brother and two sisters.

In keeping with Earl�(TM)s wishes, cremation has taken place. A public memorial service will be held Saturday, February 15, at 1:30pm in the Toland-Herzig Monarch Center, 831 Boulevard, Dover, with a reception immediately following the ceremony.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Salvation Army, 301 N. Wooster Ave., Dover 44622 or the donor�(TM)s favorite charity.
