Earl N. Johnson, 74, of Dover died Monday, March 7, 2016 at Union Hospital.

Born July 21, 1941 in Somerdale he was a son of the late Robert and Mary Brannen Johnson.

Earl served his country with the United States Marines. Following his military service, he was employed at the B & O Railroad and eventually retired from the Wheeling and Lake Erie Railroad following a 34 year career. Earl loved all sports, he coached his sons with the Dover Little League program, enjoyed watching his grandchildren play and you could always find him rooting for the Browns, Cavs or Indians. In his spare time, he liked being outdoors and mowing his yard.

Earl will be sadly missed by his wife of 50 years, Marsha Fox Johnson, whom he married on July 17, 1965; sons, Steve (Lezlie) Johnson of Greentown, Troy Johnson of Dover, Tim (Kari) Johnson of The Woodlands, Texas; brothers, Jerry Johnson of Dover, Bill (Faye) Johnson of Mineral City; sisters, Roberta (Foster) Hicks of New Philadelphia, Anna Mae (Dale) Bailey of Georgia; grandchildren, Sean, Nathan, Evan, Sara and Matthew Johnson and many nieces and nephews.

Cremation has been entrusted to the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory at Dover. Friends can call at the funeral home on Thursday from 6-8 pm. There are no services.
