Earlene Lee Kennedy, 56, of 88400 Oak Hill Rd. (Tappan Lake) Uhrichsville, Ohio died Sunday, July 7, 2002 at Aultman Hospital following a brief illness.
She owned and operated the Kennedy Country Crafts located at the Holmes County Flea Market. She also previously was employed at L.J. Smith Company, Alliance Clerk of Courts, the former Holshoy Welding Supply Company in Canton, Sugardale Meats in Canton, and Union Hospital.
Born April 14, 1946 in Dover, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Alma Breniser Gordon.
Earlene was a member of the Uhrichsville Moose Lodge and the Dover VFW. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling, cooking, baking, and helping others. She was an avid Ohio State fan.
She is survived by her husband, James L. Kennedy with whom she celebrated 6 years of marriage on April 1.
She is also survived by six children Melinda “Mindy” (Jeff) Hanzel of New Philadelphia; John A. (Linda) Kinsey of Canton; David E. Kinsey of Arizona; Sheri A. (John) Hidey of Uhrichsville; and twin sons, Bill and Mike Kennedy of the home.
Five grandchildren Paul, Michelle, Crystal, and Tiffany Hanzal and Alexis Hidey.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Kathryn Gordon.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, July10, 2002 at 1:30 pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover with Rev. Dode Overton officiating. Interment will be in the Dover Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm.
