Edgar L. Gotshall, 86, of the Park Village Health Care Center and formerly of Chelsea Drive, Dover, Ohio died Wednesday, August 8, 2001 in the center following a period of declining health.
Ed retired in 1985, as a groundskeeper for Crater Stadium and the Dover Public Schools where he worked for 20 years.
Born June 4, 1915 near Cadiz, Ohio, he was the son of the late William and Harriett Brown Gotshall. He was also preceded by parents, John and Leota Abel along with two brothers, Lloyd and Roy Gotshall and two sisters, Edna Gotshall and Jackie Schaar.
Edgar was a Life Member of the Dover Tornado Club and member of the Indian Meadows Church of God. He served in the US Army during World War II.
His wife, Christine F. Fritz Gotshall died July 16, 1984.
He is survived by his daughter and son in law Karen (Ernie) Allen of New Martinsville, West Virginia
Two grandchildren Nathan L. Allen of Cleveland and Natalie L. Allen of New Martinsville.
One brother John (Ruth) Abel of Canton.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 11, 2001 at 1:00 pm in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home at Dover with Pastor William Mallernee officiating. Interment will be in the Ridgecrest Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.
