Edgar Paul Lengler

Edgar Paul Lengler, 92, of Dover passed away on Monday, March 12, 2018 at Union Hospital in Dover following an extended illness.

Born on November 17, 1925 in Dover, he was the son of the late Clatta and Florence (Beaber) Lengler. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Beatrice Blickensderfer.

He graduated from Dover High School. Immediately following his graduation, he was drafted into the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany during World War II.

Edgar married his wife of 70 years, Martha Rinehart, on July 21, 1947. He loved camping and was one of the first members of the Buckeye Bacon Burners Club. Golfing and bowling were his favorite past times and he took pride in teaching his grandchildren both games. He especially loved attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. He never missed a game.

In addition to his wife, Martha, he will be sadly missed by his children; Terry (Tara) Lengler of Dover, and Candy (David) Shanklin of Dover; grandchildren, Tammy, Paige, Matthew, Ryan, Aaron, Melinda, Keith; great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Kennedy, Elliott, Jacob; great-great-granddaughter, Emma; along with his sister, Donna (Red) Raber of Strasburg.
