Edith Mae Croy, 83, lifelong resident of Dover, died on Friday, January 18, 2008 in Park Village Health Care Center in Dover after a brief illness.
Born on March 24, 1924 in Dover, she was the daughter of the late Marvin and Anna Margaret Rothacher Rinehart. She married Robert Croy on August 19, 1941. Together they had three children. Robert preceded her in death on December 5, 1987.
Edith was a homemaker. Her family remembers her as a devoted caregiver. They remember her patience and kind heart as she took care of her own father before he passed away. She always put everyone else before herself. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed visiting with friends at the senior center.
She is survived by; two daughters, Janie L. Croy of Gold Canyon, AZ, Judy (husband, Dan) Peveto of Dover; a son, Marvin (wife, Bonnie) Croy of New Philadelphia; two brothers, Clarence (wife, Donna) and Jack (wife, Joan) Rinehart both of Dover; two sisters, Martha (husband, Ed) Lengler of Dover and June (husband, Wayne) Piper of Cincinnati, Ohio as well as four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Her sister, Ruth Welshenbaugh, precedes her in death.
A celebration of Ediths life will be held at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home and Crematory in Dover on Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Michael Lowry officiating. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Tuesday from 12:00-1:00pm. Burial will follow the service at Dover Burial Park.
