Edith Matilda Mutti Lahm, 86, of Dover, was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 9, 2009 at Union Hospital after a brief illness.
Born on July 22, 1923, in York Township, she was the daughter of the late William and Katherine Buehler Mutti. On June 4, 1949, she married Raymond H. Lahm. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary shortly before he passed away on October 10, 1999. Edith was a very loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She worked at Belmont Stamping and Nickels Bakery for many years.
Edith was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Dover, where she worked in the church kitchen for many years.
She will be sadly missed by her three daughters; Judy (Robert) Clinton, Kathleen Lahm, and Brenda Lahm all of Dover; her son, Rodney Lahm of Dover; sister, Bernice Yakley of Sugarcreek; seven sisters-in- law, Lucille Mutti of Stone Creek, Midge Lahm, Marge Freed, Shirley (Russell) Kollar, Anna Mae Lahm, and Marge Lantzer all of Dover, and Dorothy Welsch of New Philadelphia; six grandchildren, Heather (Mike) Dotts of Stone Creek, Michelle (Jose) Coss of Cleveland, Sonia Clinton, Fawn Lahm, Stormi Clinton, Talon Lahm all of Dover; and two great grandchildren, Gemma and Cora Dotts of Stone Creek.
In addition to her husband, she is also preceded in death by four brothers, Albert, Emmett, Wilbert and Cletus Mutti; and her sister, Alverda Babarcik.
A celebration of Edith's life will take place at St. John United Church of Christ in Dover on Friday, November, 13 2009 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Michael Lowry officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Burial Park. Friends are invited to call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory in Dover on Thursday, November 12, 2009 from 6:00-8:00 pm.
