Edith M. Sisson

Edith M. Sisson, 79, formerly of Bolivar, passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2025 in the Hennis Care Centre at Dover.

Born on September 27, 1945 in Dover she was a daughter of the late Vernon G. and V. Arlene Haas Miller. Edith was also preceded in death by her husband, Larry Sisson on January 8, 2018; and her sister, Rita Rowe.

Edith retired from JCPenney in Canton after 20 years of service. She was an active member of St. John United Church of Christ in Strasburg having been involved with the Seasoned Seniors and sang in the choir.

She is survived by her children, Terry (Missy) Sisson of Strasburg, Kristi Sisson of Bolivar; sister, Jane Andreas of Strasburg; brothers, Harlan Miller, Larry (Sue) Miller both of Strasburg, Jim (Carol) Miller of Scio; granddaughter, Mercedes (Trevor) Sisson; step grandchildren, Madison Burk, Lucas Burk; and great granddaughter, Berkley McMillen.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 14th starting at 11:00 am in the St. John United Church of Christ, Strasburg with Rev. Jason Rissler officiating. Interment will be in the Ft. Laurens Cemetery at Bolivar. The family will be greeting friends at the church on Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 am.
