Edna M. Weigand, 84, of the Park Village Health Care Center and formerly of Schneider Crossing Rd., Dover, Ohio died Thursday, January 10, 2002 in the center following an extended illness.
She was an employee of the former Sales Dress Store in Dover.
Born January 7, 1918 in Dover, she was the daughter of the late Rudy S. and Cora B. Logan Schupbach.
Edna was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church at Dover and the former Christian Mothers. She was also a member of the Dover VFW Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Weigand who died January 8, 1972.
She is survived by her daughter Norma (Adrian) Wisintainer of Dover and her son, James (Jan) Weigand of Roswell, Georgia
Two sisters Alma (Calvin) Bair of Dover and Doris (George) Benedetto of Uhrichsville.
Five grandchildren Susan Murphy of Mayfield Heights, Ohio, Audie (Marsha) Murphy of Pickerington, Ohio, Noreen (Eddie) West of Friendly, W.Va., Julie (Charlie) Hudak of Dunwoody, Georgia, and Jennifer Weigand of Roswell, Ga. ; She is also survived by her sisters and brothers in law Beatrice Koeller of Youngstown, Marjorie (J.R.) Warner of Canton, Herm (Mary) Weigand of Dover, Bill (Rose) Weigand of New Philadelphia along with eight great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son in law Floyd Murphy, a grandson, Patrick Murphy, one brother, Paul Schupbach and two sisters, Bertha Peters and Rose Hartman.
A Rite of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 10:30 am in the St. Joseph Catholic Church at Dover with Fr. William Arnold officiating. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery at Dover. Friends may call at the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home in Dover on Sunday from 5-8 pm where Christian Wake Services will be held at 7:30 pm.
